5 Great Resources for You

Hi friends! You may have noticed the new theme and the new title of my blog: Tizzie’s Tidbits of Truth. I feel like this new title really summarizes the goal of my blog: to share my tidbits (i.e., my thoughts) about the incredible truths of God’s Word with you. To celebrate these new changes on the blog, I want to share five great Christian resources that I’ve found recently:

1. Same Kind of Different as Me

This is a powerful (and well-made) Christian film from PureFlix. Though its focus isn’t the gospel, it weaves the gospel into the storyline. In short, it’s about a husband and wife who are struggling in their marriage. When the wife starts volunteering at a homeless shelter, her husband reluctantly decides to join her. While volunteering, the wife encounters a homeless man whom she had recently encountered in her dreams and decides to help him—no matter how much it costs her. I know that you’ll be impacted by this movie’s powerful message!

2. “Why There’s No Such Thing as a Perfect Quiet Time” by Betsy St. Amant Haddox

This article really encouraged me. Betsy St. Amant Haddox’s words reminded me that because I’m not perfect, my quiet time won’t be perfect either—and that’s okay! Our faithfulness is what truly matters, not having a perfect quiet time with the Lord.

3. “Ten Ways to Revive a Deadened Heart” by Jennifer Slattery

I don’t know about you, but sometimes my heart my heart does feel dead. I wonder why I feel like an apathetic wanderer through the wilderness. But Jennifer Slattery offers several helpful suggestions for reviving our restless and weary hearts.

4. “I Wanna Go Back” by David Dunn

You absolutely need to listen to this song by David Dunn. It perfectly describes the life of a believer who has grown up in church and misses the “good old days” of having childlike faith and trust. It’s a very relatable, encouraging song.

5. “Clear the Stage” by Jimmy Needham

It almost feels like Jimmy Needham is driving a dagger into the hearts of his listeners through this song’s lyrics—but honestly, they’re lyrics that so many of us need to hear. He focuses on the intentions of believers, especially in regard to worshipping God and honoring Him. I highly recommend that you listen to this powerful song and add it to your playlist.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (Philippians 4:8 ESV)
