I’m Thankful for You

Ever since I started Tizzie’s Tidbits of Truth in 2015, I’ve received texts, emails, and words of praise for my writing. Not because I’m an outstanding writer who deserves them. Not because my posts are oh-so-insightful. Not because my writing style or format is particularly excellent. But because countless individuals have made the conscious choice to encourage me.

Sneak Peek of Real Recovery: What Eating Disorder Recovery Actually Looks Like

Today’s post is super simple: it’s an excerpt from my new book Real Recovery: What Eating Disorder Recovery Actually Looks Like. Before you groan and think, “Why should I bother buying that book? I’ve never had an eating disorder,” let me just say that this book isn’t just for young women who are recovering from an eating disorder. This book is also for young women who are pre-recovery and post-recovery—and for their family members, friends, church leaders, and teachers. By the way, this book will be released on February 22, 2022, which is only three months away! I hope you enjoy reading this snippet from the Introduction. Interview with Dr. Zeb Balentine

For this post, you're going to learn a lot from professor, author, and worship leader Dr. Zeb Balentine. I met him a few years ago and had the privilege of serving on a church worship team under his leadership. If you have any interest in worship, writing, or publishing, then keep reading!

4th of July Interview

For the 4th of July, I normally post something about freedom because the 4th of July is all about freedom. However, today's patriotic post includes a special interview with my friend, Kennedy. She’s been engaged for a few months and is getting married on the 4th of July! I’ve enjoyed getting to know her, and I know you’ll enjoy getting to know her, too.

Interview with Catherine Kendrick (Alex Kendrick’s Daughter)

Today's post is very special because it contains thoughts from Catherine Kendrick (one of Alex Kendrick's daughters)! Alex Kendrick has directed and starred in several Christian films, including Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Courageous, War Room, and Overcomer. I recently asked his daughter Catherine to share about herself and her life as a Christian filmmaker's kid.

Easter for the Anorexic

It’s Easter Sunday, and the sun is shining brightly. The daffodils are blooming outside. The grass is finally starting to look green again.
You sit on a hard wooden pew in the old church sanctuary. You are surrounded by a sea of people who seem genuinely joyful. Their cheerful voices echo throughout the entire sanctuary. But Satan’s voice is the only thing you can hear right now.

What if 2021 Is Worse than 2020?

I bet we would all say that we hope 2021 is better than 2020. But what if it’s not? What if 2021 is worse than 2020? My goal for this post is not to make you lose hope but to point you to a hope that we can’t lose.
