Let’s go back to 2018 when Domenick Nati interviewed her and specifically asked if homosexuality is sinful. (Yes, I realize 2018 was five years ago. But I feel more passionate now than I ever have about her response—hence this post). And in essence, she told Domenick, “Well, I can’t respond to that because I’m not God." I can't help but cringe when I think about that response.
3 Ways to Pray for the Single Girls in Your Life
I realize several of you who are reading this post aren’t single, so as a single girl, I want to share three ways you can pray for single girls like me. Maybe they work with you or they’re in your Bible study or they babysit your kids. However you know them, know they covet your prayers. And if you’re not exactly sure how to pray for them, here are a few suggestions that I highly recommend.
When You Don’t See Immediate Rewards After Taking a Leap of Faith
But instead of reaping the rewards, you’re just waiting. You’re still falling through the sky…and you’re not sure if there will be someone to catch you when you reach the ground.
Why I Like (and Don’t Like) Surprised by Oxford
Though I’d never read Dr. Carolyn Weber’s memoir Surprised by Oxford, I highly anticipated the release of the movie Surprised by Oxford, which was—yup, you guessed it—based on the book. So when I saw it was coming out in theaters for a limited two-day release, I insisted on going to see it. After spending two hours watching a beautiful yet flawed love story unfold, I walked out of the theater feeling a mixture of bliss and disappointment.
My Conversation with Kasey Shuler on The Joyful Health Show
Hi friends! Today's post has a link to a recent episode of The Joyful Health Show, where I chatted with host Kasey Shuler about how anorexia affected my life, what my recovery journey looked like, and how I ended up writing Real Recovery. I really appreciate Kasey having me on the show, and I hope you have the opportunity to listen to it soon (which you can do by clicking here)!
Dear Introverted College Student
Even though I’m not in college anymore, you and I have more in common than you might expect. First, I’ve always been an introvert; so I understand how valuable your alone time is. Second, a few years ago, I was in college—specifically, a small Christian college that was a 10-hour drive from home. I missed my family, I was scared of making friends, and I was too concerned about my grades. (Yeah, #Classic Introverted Freshman.) But in hindsight, I can see so many things I should’ve done differently in college—and this post is my friendly warning to you: Don’t do what I did.
You’re Invited to a Conference!

I had a blast sharing on the UncommonTEEN podcast last summer, and I'm thankful to Jamie for the opportunity to share at this conference for Christian teen girls. If you're interested in attending this conference, check out the event details below.
The Burdens and Blessings of Suffering
This post was written by author Nicole Jacobsmeyer, who wrote the book Take Back Your Joy: Fighting for Purpose When Life Is More Than You Can Handle. Nicole has faced so many challenges in her life, and her resiliency is commendable—but so is her reliance on God. If you're going through a season of suffering, I encourage you to read her post and remember you don't go through anything alone.
To the Girl Who’s Falling for an Engaged Guy
I couldn’t help but notice Liam sitting across the room from me in that small circle of people. He was incredibly handsome, so I immediately tried to catch a glimpse of his left hand to see if he was married or not. To my delight, he wasn’t wearing a wedding ring! But unfortunately, the evening went downhill from there.
