Where God's Word Meets Our Mess

However, Christianity is different. It says, “Everything is going to be okay” and can promise a bright future. Maybe that future won’t come today or tomorrow, but hope is indeed in our future. In fact, we can have that hope today.
Last week, we discussed three of the greatest fears of future college students. But most incoming college students have more than three major fears about college, so I’m going to discuss two more today.
I had lots of fears about college, but if I wrote about all of them, this post would be way too long! I think that we should focus on the top five fears that future college students have.
I didn’t care about worshiping God on His throne. I didn’t care about spending every moment with my Savior. I didn’t even care about reveling in the beauty of Heaven’s golden streets and breathtaking splendor. I just wanted to be forever free from my pain and find eternal rest for my heart.
We expect our issues and struggles to disappear for exciting events and occasions. We think that we can whisk the pain out of our minds to focus on these special occurrences. Or perhaps we have come to realize that our expectations will usually fail us.
As frustrating as sleeplessness may be, we can learn to be content in it for one reason alone: God is with us through it. Whether we're awake or asleep, He still loves us and desires our obedience. He is protecting us. He is holding us. He is shaping us. Even in sleeplessness. This poem is for the insomniacs, the tired, and the weary.
Well, summertime is quickly approaching. People are firing up their grills, planning family vacations, and shopping for summer apparel, including bikinis. And I thought that it'd be fun to write about bikinis, clothes, and convictions in general. Honestly, you probably won’t find me in a bikini this year. I’ve actually never worn one.
Yet again, I had to rush through my quiet time to get ready for class this morning. Yet again, I felt a twinge of guilt for cutting this time short. But yet again, I did nothing about it. In fact, I did it the next day and the day after that and the day after that. I couldn't understand why making my quiet time a priority was so difficult.
