He’s Coming Quickly (and 3 Other Truths to Remember This Easter)

I realize it might seem strange to discuss Revelation in a post about Easter, but I see a clear connection between the events described in Revelation and the events described in the gospels. When Jesus lived on Earth, He said He would (1) die (2) rise from the dead (3) return. The gospels make it clear that He fulfilled the first two promises. While we wait for Him to fulfill the third promise, we need to know and believe the truth. In this post, I’ll focus on four specific truths about His coming that are in Revelation 22.

Dear Ed (My Eating Disorder)

Let’s rewind a few years, shall we? I know you can remember it. I was a sophomore in high school trying to figure out her college plans, wanting to grow in her writing craft, and internally panicking about what was ahead. I was very involved in church—participating in youth group, Awana, Sunday school, and music ministry. I was taking classes at a local homeschool group alongside other homeschoolers. And even though I wasn’t exactly sure how I would get there, I knew that I wanted to be a published author. It had really been my only dream since I was a little girl. But you were willing to do anything and everything to make sure that that dream didn’t become a reality.

It’s Not Impossible to Pursue God

Sure, I do my quiet time. I actually do sit down with my Bible, journal, and colored pens. But I rush through my devotions. I don’t set my alarm early enough. I hurry off to class without even praying. I suppose it's not surprising that God seems so far away.

How to Get Through a Really Bad Day

Don’t get so depressed about a bad day that you can’t smile tomorrow. It’s easy just to see a big, black cloud hanging over your life after you’ve had a rough day. But God says He’s not finished yet. You never know what tomorrow will be like. Give God a chance to work and move in your life.
