Summary: An average 10-year-old girl develops heartbreaking illness, and it takes a toll on her whole family. Her parents can’t understand why their daughter is in such pain. A scary accident seems to heal her illness, and she claims she went to heaven while she was unconscious.
Message: In short, the movie’s message is to have faith. Even though we don’t always know why we’re suffering, we’re called to trust God through it. He can perform amazing miracles in our lives. And sometimes, He uses us to strengthen others in their suffering and show them He’s working in their lives.
Tizzie’s Take: Miracles from Heaven was an amazing movie. There are so many good things I could say about it. (I was honestly close to tears, and I never cry in movies…though Frozen was a close call). The actors and actresses were great, the story was incredible, and the message was full of hope. I specifically want to mention its message that we can all have an impact on others. The end of the movie reveals how God used various people in the girl’s life to support her in her journey and encourage her in her pain. Plus, the girl’s impact on another patient in the hospital was incredible. This movie reminds us that the little things we say and do can make a big difference.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 ESV)
