Does True Freedom Actually Exist?

You probably aren’t surprised that this post is about freedom because the 4th of July (i.e., Independence Day) is coming up soon. But my answer to the question “Does true freedom actually exist?” might surprise you. Truth be told, there are lots of things we don’t have freedom from—at least not here and now.

When Sparks Fly

For the 4th of July, I decided to write a romantic poem (ooh la la, right?) instead of writing about freedom or patriotism. While I definitely hope that your day is filled with patriotism and freedom regardless of what your relationship status is, this poem specifically goes out to my single ladies who are facing the holiday alone. Wave one of those sparklers for me and relish the fact that even if you feel alone, you're not alone. Happy Independence Day (ba-dum-ch!).

Interview with Kennedy Wilhite

For the 4th of July, I normally post something about freedom because this holiday is all about freedom. However, today's post includes a special interview with my friend, Kennedy Wilhite. She’s getting married on the 4th of July! I’ve enjoyed getting to know her, and I know you’ll enjoy getting to know her too.

If You Don’t Feel Free on This Independence Day

We’re entering the month of July, and people are still talking about the coronavirus. We’re still reading the one-sided news and the biased viewpoints. We’re still swallowing the confusion, chaos, and despair. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel anything but free on this Independence Day.

Free Freedom

Thank Jesus for His sacrifice for you. He fought for you. He still fights for you (Joshua 23:10). Even though we didn't earn the victory, Christ gives us the victory over sin and death.
