Today we remember the story of America’s independence and the brave soldiers who fought for the freedom of America. The British people oppressed the Americans, but they overcame Britain. Countless men fought for our country.
The took great risks.
They faced death.
Yet they fought willingly for our freedom as Americans.
Christ fought willingly for our freedom.
Don’t just spend your day having a picnic and watching fireworks. This day is not just important in American history but in our history as Christians. Remember the battle with death that Christ fought for you.
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. (Romans 8:11 NASB)
Thank Jesus for His sacrifice for you. He fought for you. He still fights for you (Joshua 23:10). Even though we didn’t earn the victory, Christ gives us the victory over sin and death.
You have life. You are free. You are His.
Thank Him.
Happy Independence Day! 🙂
