I didn’t care about worshiping God on His throne. I didn’t care about spending every moment with my Savior. I didn’t even care about reveling in the beauty of Heaven’s golden streets and breathtaking splendor. I just wanted to be forever free from my pain and find eternal rest for my heart.
What to Remember When Exciting Events Are Plagued with Problems
We expect our issues and struggles to disappear for exciting events and occasions. We think that we can whisk the pain out of our minds to focus on these special occurrences. Or perhaps we have come to realize that our expectations will usually fail us.
Renewing Your Mind in a Corrupt Culture
That's why we need to be careful about what we choose to look at and listen to. Maybe we’re not affected by every word we hear and every image we see. But when we continually fill our minds with immoral things, they begin to corrupt the way we think, speak, and act. But God calls us to be changed by the renewing of our minds.

Ready or Not
As I write this post, I'm preparing to go back to college. I had a lovely break of doing absolutely no homework. I spent time with my family, attended my church, and hung out with my friends. How to Deal with Negative Emotions
I felt completely helpless to change my circumstances, but I also felt so far from God. I struggled to appropriately deal with the negative emotions that I felt—probably because I craved constant happiness and believed that I was entitled to it. I couldn't see a way out of the downward spiral that my life had become.
Wishing Our Woes Away
His grace is enough. His power lives in us when we boast of our weaknesses. We can be satisfied living with struggles because He makes us strong when we are weak. Knowing this won’t make your troubles go away. It won’t make the stress of a math test or an irritating co-worker vanish into thin air. It won’t remove the pain from a health problem or from losing a loved one. But without this truth, we are hopeless.
The Christian Blahs
