Movie Review: Priceless

Priceless was a dramatic and entertaining rescue-turned-romance. The skillful acting, interesting story-line, and believable characters definitely made this worth seeing. Though tear-jerking at times, this film portrayed a story about two girls who were sold into sex trafficking, a topic which is never discussed (but should be!). The Smallbone brothers, of the Christian band For King and Country, tackled it well.

Thanking Our Maker

There is no room for coincidences here. There’s no room for cosmic mistakes or luck or fate. Think of every tiny good thing as a blessing from God, and thank Him for it. Pay attention to the pink sunsets and colorful leaves and roaring ocean. Don't overlook them or their Maker. Enjoy them and thank Him for such lovely creations.

Sweet or Sour

Forbidden words and phrases have snuck into our everyday vocabulary. It is a rare thing to hear God’s name magnified instead of misused. Insults, complaints, and juicy gossip have replaced conversations about the weather and sales on shoes. Your chance of making a difference might look slim when you hear so much sour. But maybe you can be a little spark in the darkness.

Preventing the Burn

We put ourselves out in the sun and don’t use sunscreen. We lie down on the pavement on a hot summer day and hope we won’t get burned. In other words, we put ourselves in compromising situations and expect that we won’t fail.

Setting Your Mind on the Savior

Sure, we can accomplish tasks without God. People around the world build skyscrapers, find cures for diseases, and win battles against foes. They've done things that seemed impossible. After all, every sports movie has an underdog story. But only God gave them the strength to do those things.

Outside of Your Own Little World

Conflict happens. But let’s not start pointless squabbles about things that don’t truly matter. Let’s focus on the fact that we as Christians need to give God glory in everything—even with our opinions.
