At this time of year, we tend to focus on relationships—starting them, strengthening them, and (sometimes) ending them. On a recent episode of Old School Food Freedom—a podcast hosted by Chrissy Kirkman—I talked about my first real(ish) relationship and what it taught me about priorities. It opened my eyes to hard truths about food, exercise, and health in general.
Even if you’re not currently recovering from an eating disorder, I hope this conversation encourages you and reminds you that singleness can prepare you for dating and marriage. It’s an opportunity to examine your own priorities and to determine what priorities you want your future husband to have so that—together—you can honor God in your marriage. You can listen to my conversation with Chrissy here.
(Technically, this is my second conversation with Chrissy because I appeared on her podcast in July 2023, but you can head over to Spotify to check out that episode!)
An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life. (Proverbs 31:10-12 NASB1995)
