3 Reasons I’m Glad I Went to an Out-of-State College

I should definitely preface this post by saying that you’re not sinning if you choose not to go to college or if you choose to go to an in-state college. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with choosing either of those options! However, now that several months have passed since I graduated from an out-of-state college, I can say that I’m really glad that I chose to go there. I encourage you to consider these reasons for attending college out of state if you’re getting ready to enter that season of life.

5 Things Recent College Grads Want You to Know

College was a crazy season of life, and I can’t believe that it’s over now. Even though I won’t miss the research papers or class presentations, I’ll definitely miss the feeling of community. As a recent grad, I feel like there are so many things that I could tell you about college—not because I know it all but because I made so many mistakes during college that I don’t want you to make! I asked some of my recently graduated friends to share their thoughts as recent college grads, and these are the things that they wanted you to know.

Interview with Catherine Kendrick (Alex Kendrick’s Daughter)

For today's post, I have the privilege of sharing an interview that I recently did with Catherine Kendrick (one of Alex Kendrick's daughters)! Alex Kendrick has directed and starred in several Christian films, including Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Courageous, War Room, and Overcomer. I recently asked his daughter Catherine to share about herself and her life as a Christian filmmaker's kid.

Ready or Not…Again

As I write this post I’m preparing to graduate from college. I had four lovely years at a college where I met new friends, found a church that felt like home, and led a discipleship group of six great gals. I attended many memorable student events, played keyboard for campus chapel services, and tutored an amazing girl named Lexi. I used the word “community” way too much, sat in local coffee shops as I watched people interact, and discovered my favorite local restaurants. I enjoyed being at college. But now I must return to my actual home—in the brand-new territory called "adulthood"—and I’m not ready.

The 3 Greatest Fears of Adulthood

Some soon-to-be-college-grads whom I know have plans for the future already. They already have jobs lined up, they’ve already met Mr. Right, or they’ve already chosen to further their education. But I don’t have anything set for my life after April. And that scares me.

Dear College Senior

May is approaching so quickly, isn’t it? The day when you wear your cap and gown, reach for your diploma, and finally enter adulthood will indeed be bittersweet. Everyone tells you that college is the best time of your life and that post-college will be the worst time of your life. Perhaps the best time of your life will officially be over in approximately three months. So you panic.

The Real Reason I’m Not Excited About My College Graduation

My. Senior. Year. What a scary combination of words. At least, I’m really scared by that combination of words. Of course, I have the usual concerns about doing well in my classes and juggling work with school. But more than that, I’m worried about what I’m going to do after graduation in May. What the heck am I going to do with the rest of my life?

To the College Student Whose Life Has Been Impacted by COVID-19

It's likely that the past several weeks have been stressful for you. Maybe you feel like a heavy burden is weighing down your heart and your mind. Maybe you feel like a dark cloud is looming over your head or your home. Maybe you feel like a huge question mark is staring you in the face because the future is so unknown. Thank you, COVID-19.

Dear College Freshman

My freshman year wasn't long ago, and I can relate to your concerns about starting college. However, I believe it’s possible to worry less about starting college if you don’t put so much pressure on yourself.
