Why Flirting May Be More Dangerous Than You Think

In 2019, I published a post called "Why Daydreaming May Be More Dangerous Than You Think." The post is about how daydreaming often precedes lust. It’s actually been one of the most popular posts on TTT, so I decided to write this post about flirting—because flirting often precedes daydreaming, which often precedes lust. To show you what I mean, I included an embarrassing story from my own life. You're in for a treat.

How God Has Unexpectedly Changed My Desires

I used to doubt that God was capable of changing my desires. I figured that my desires were essentially set in stone and that they honestly couldn't be transformed. I do believe that some desires are God-given and aren’t mean to go away. But I've recently started to see God change my desires in unexpected ways.

My Conversation with Amber Johns on BRAVE

For today's post (which falls during Eating Disorders Awareness Week), I'm sharing an episode of BRAVE, a podcast I recently appeared on to talk about my journey through anorexia, my journey through recovery, and how my relationship with God was impacted. This podcast is part of FCA BRAVE (a specific ministry of Fellowship of Christian Athletes). You can find the episode here! Special thanks to Amber Johns for having me as a guest.

Fighting the Lies of My Eating Disorder: Jennifer Smith Lane’s Story

This post was written by Jennifer Smith Lane, the author of Transformed: Eating and Body Image Renewal God's Way. I'm sharing Jennifer's story this week as we approach Eating Disorders Awareness Week. Her story is raw and real, but it's also full of hope. If you're struggling with an eating disorder or you know someone who's struggling with an eating disorder, this account will both convict and uplift.

An Honest Confession on Valentine’s Day

I wish I could tell you that this Valentine’s Day is special because I finally met The One, but this Valentine’s Day is no different than last Valentine’s Day. Instead of being curled up on the couch with a handsome Christian man wearing a navy pullover sweater and an almost mischievous side smile, I’m writing yet another blog post about singleness. “An Honest Confession on Valentine’s Day” seemed like the only appropriate title for a post about the major gap between where I am and where I want to be this Valentine’s Day.

2 Fun February Announcements!

Happy February! There are a couple important events happening this month, and I want to celebrate them with you. First, Real Recovery: What Eating Disorder Recovery Actually Looks Like turns one year old on February 22! I'm thankful for everything God has done over the past year with this book, and I'm excited to see what He'll do this year. Second, Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW) lasts from February 27 to March 5. I'm very passionate about helping young women recover from eating disorders, so I'm glad there's a week set aside to raise awareness about them. In honor of these two events, I'm offering a couple freebies. Here's how you can get them.

Interview with Shelby Abbott

In this video interview, author Shelby Abbott opens up about what his singleness journey looked like, how he met his wife and got married as a 29-year-old, and how his past (and current) struggles have shaped his ministry mindset. He candidly shares how single girls can approach singleness in a God-honoring way. I know that you'll find his story very encouraging!
