Christ is risen! I hope you’re having a wonderful Easter!
I decided to spice up the monotony of blogging and try writing a poem for this special day. By the way, I am not a poet. At all. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy reading my jumbled mess of words and feel encouraged on this blessed day.
I knit ev’ry mocker while still in the womb,
I crafted the stone in front of My tomb,
And I made the wood in My heavy cross.
I saw that day before time was invented,
And I could have stopped it if I had wanted.
But I knew that others couldn’t have saved you.
Your sins and your shame were weighty upon Me,
But I hung on the cross so you could be free.
I’ll never regret bearing all of your shame
Even when I see you walking away.
Because I’m alive, you have hope that won’t fade.
I’m not a Savior who’s still in the grave.
So just trust in My name and trust in My Word.
Tell of the cross and the grave I have conquered.
And He Himself brought our sins in His body up on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you were healed. (1 Peter 2:24 NASB)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (1 Peter 1:3 NASB)
Happy Easter!
