When my first book was published, I didn’t think it would take me four years to finish a second book. But there were some unexpected twists and turns throughout my writing journey. I wrote, made revisions, and made more revisions. The title, content, and even tone have changed during the past several years. But I’ve truly poured my heart into this book—and I can finally share more about it. I can’t wait for you to read it!
Title Reveal
Drumroll please! It’s time to reveal the title for Book 2! Are you ready?
The Ring by Spring Ruse: Recognizing and Rewriting the False Narratives Single Girls Have Been Told About Dating and Waiting
The reason I selected this title is simple: We (me and you and single girls around the world) have been told false narratives about dating and waiting, but when we know the truth, we can wait on the Lord with strength and courage. I want to help single girls choose hope over despair because I know from personal experience that even though despair is the easier choice, hope is the better choice.
Release Details
I realize that many authors make this claim about their books, but I’m going to make it nevertheless because it’s true: This book is different. Unlike other books about singleness, The Ring by Spring Ruse isn’t about finding joy and contentment during this season of life. Frankly, I believe there are enough books on that topic in the Christian market.
The Ring by Spring Ruse was written by a single girl (yours truly) for single girls. The words “joy” and “contentment” appear infrequently because we receive plenty of encouragement to be joyful and content but not nearly enough encouragement to be hopeful, prayerful, and faithful as we date and wait. If you want a book that confronts the challenges of singleness with honesty and relatability, The Ring by Spring Ruse is the book for you.
The planned release date for The Ring by Spring Ruse is May 12, 2026. That’s only a few weeks away! On the publication day, I’ll share a blog post that includes the direct link to the book.
Here are a few additional things you might want to know about The Ring by Spring Ruse: There are 10 chapters in the book. Each chapter has four sections/elements—a letter to single girls, a personal story from yours truly, a passage from Scripture (and my perspective on it), and an account from a single girl or former single girl about dating/waiting. The theme verse for the book is from Psalms: “Wait for the LORD; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the LORD” (Psalm 27:14 NASB1995).
I’ll share more about The Ring by Spring Ruse in future blog posts. Even if you’re not a single girl, you’re still invited to participate in the fun! As the publication day approaches, I encourage you to tell your single family members, friends, and acquaintances about the book so they can learn to date and wait with confidence in the Lord.
